The UFC’s latest addition will feature Frankie Edgar will be returning to action against popular among youth Yair Rodriguez on May 13th in Dallas.
UFC officials announced the match on Thursday.
Edgar will be returning to fight after his win over Jeremy Stephens in November last year at UFC 205 in New York. Edgar has lost only one match in his past seven fights. His only loss came to current featherweight champion Jose Aldo.
After a small gap Edgar will return against one of the top prospects in the UFC today.
Rodriguez has impressed by winning this season’s “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America”and making a steady climb up the featherweight rankings.
Rodriguez dispatched BJ Penn a UFC Hall of Famer in easy fashion this past January to move his record to 10-1 overall and 6-0 inside the Octagon.
Edgar and Rodriguez match will join a star-studded UFC 211 card headlined by heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic taking on Junior dos Santos as well as strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk putting her title on the line against Jessica Andrade.
